Professional Tutor

 

Alex Nye is a professional tutor and English teacher with over 25 years’ experience in education. A graduate of King’s College, London, she gained her teaching qualification at Jordanhill, Glasgow, and has taught in schools across Scotland.

She has created a range of teaching resources to help students understand poetry, drama and prose, and to develop their skills and confidence. She has numerous testimonials from parents and students who have found her support invaluable.

Alex has also acted as a teaching fellow in universities, to help students improve their critical thinking skills and their academic writing.

As well as being a teacher, Alex is also a writer and has eight titles published. She writes for both children and adults, and her first children’s novel won the Royal Mail Award, the Scottish Children’s Book Award, and is still on the First Minister’s Reading List. In this capacity she has visited schools and libraries across Scotland since 2006, encouraging literacy among the young.
